USF Recycling History
Since its creation in 1989 by a small group of concerned students, USF Recycles has steadily increased its service throughout the campus. USF Recycles has expanded from a very small student run organization, servicing only a few locations on campus, to using two full-time employees, a Ford F-150 pick-up and an electric GEM eL truck, to service over 175 recycling locations on campus. With help from Sunset Scavengers and a 900 square foot centralized collection pad, USF Recycles now serves an important role in promoting environmental awareness and providing a valuable service to the University of San Francisco community.
